IZUMI EVERS
Izumi Evers is jaPRESS' art director, graphic designer, and international coordinator.
Born in Japan, Izumi Evers graduated from Tokyo Design College in 1992 and worked at various Japanese media companies including Shinko Music and Fiction Inc.
From 1996 to 2004, Izumi was employed by Viz Media where she did design and editorial duties on such titles as PULP magazine and the best-selling book BATTLE ROYALE.
Fluent in English and Japanese, Izumi uses her graphic design and administrative skills to facilitate communication between products, customers, and providers around the world.

PATRICK MACIAS
Writer, editor, and internationally recognized Japanese pop culture expert Patrick Macias divides his time between San Francisco and Tokyo. Currently the Editor-in-Chief of OTAKU USA magazine, his most recent book is 2007's JAPANESE SCHOOLGIRL INFERNO: TOKYO TEEN FASHION SUBCULTURE HANDBOOK (co-written by Izumi Evers, Chronicle Books).
Patrick's writing has been featured in a variety of publications including the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Examiner, the Bay Guardian, the Chicago Sun-Times, and Wired magazine. He also writes for Japanese print media and is a regular contributor to the Japan Times newspaper and the magazines Figure Oh, ASCII Weekly, and STUDIO VOICE.
